All repairs and recovering of the ailerons, rudders, and elevator are complete. We are now applying the aluminum paint and are almost finished with that. The next step will be to re-attached the trim tabs. Below, Paul Nothnagle and Dave Semley work on the painting.
This is what the elevator looks like after painting.

The outboard ailerons and elevator trim are finished.
For this year's airshow, we opened up a larger area inside the C119 to accommodate more visitors. Note the large floor fan in the center of the photo, a gift from member Andy Morris which came in real handy due to the heat inside the plane.
We added a small fan on the flight deck to keep the air moving, and for the first time, supplied music to entertain our guests.
Also, for the first time, we put our ramps and the jeep on display, which turned out to be a very popular attraction to our visitors. Many people were seen standing next to them, posing for photos.
A steady stream of visitors came to see the Boxcar. As a result, contributions to our donation barrel were highter than any previous airshow.
We have been working on dozens of smaller projects and there are many, many more things to do, so anyone interested in helping is welcome! Stop by the plane or the admin building and ask. You will find us there most Wednesdays and often other days as well.
Have a great Summer!
