We are continuing with the repair and restoration of a wing flap and are learning as we go along with help from books, on-line websites, and fellow members.

Kevin House removing some of the old torn covering.

Kevin was all bundled up for good reason. The outside temperature was 15 degrees and our furnace quit.

Years of neglect have allowed birds to take over every available opening. A lot of cleaning was needed.

George Norsen vacuuming out the bird nests. (Photo taken when the furnace still worked).

Yours truly attempting sheet metal repair. Many dents and bent metal to fix.

Though very cold, it was a beautiful day. Keven and George paid a visit to see how our big lady was doing. We also wanted to check the flap mounting hardware to see what was needed.

The boxcar doesn't mind the cold. She worked in the Arctic during her youth. The "rocky terrain" is actually frozen dirt clumps from the geothermal construction.

It is great to see work done on the old C-119. With enough time and effort, I think it will make an outstanding static display. Certainly a BIG display.
